Dungeon Hero Volume One updated, Volume Two in development

I've released a new version of Dungeon Hero Volume One, which mainly includes some cleaned-up and tightened-up language for the core rules:

  • The types of rolls you make in Dungeon Hero now have names. When you roll to get a new environment trait, that's an Advance roll, and when you roll against the environment with your own traits, that's a Challenge roll.
  • Before, the rules said that you don't make Challenge rolls on plot points. Now, it says you don't unless a roll is listed. (This is to assist future adventures that will tie rolls to plot points.)
  • Health has been renamed to Resolve to make it more abstract, and make it easier to imagine situations where the danger to your adventuring goals isn't just physical harm. Similarly, enemies now have Threat instead of hit points.
  • Reduced the number of vikings you get in the Fortress of the Frost Giant Jarl so it's less swingy.

In other news, I'm working on Dungeon Hero Volume Two, which will include three new adventures, so follow me if you'd like to be notified when they are released!
